I believe that abortion is murder and should be illegal. Before, I explain why, let me first say that the only question that needs to be considered when determining whether abortion should be legal or not is, "What is the unborn?" If the unborn is not human then no justification for abortion is necessary, but if the unborn is human, then no justification is adequate.
This dialogue illustrates my point, PC is the pro-choice supporter, and PL is the pro-life supporter.
PC: I think that abortion is a private decision between a woman and her doctor.
PL: Do we allow mothers to abuse their children so long as it's done in the privacy of their own homes?
PC: Of course not, those children are human beings.
PL: Then the issue isn't privacy, if it was you wouldn't have a problem with the woman who privately decides to abuse her child. The question is, "What is the unborn?"
PC: But would you force a woman to have a child that she cannot afford.
PL: Do we allow parents to kill their children when they become expensive?
PC: No, that's different. Those children are alive.
PL: Then expenses aren't the issue either. We are back at my original question, "What is the unborn?"
PC: But you're being too simplistic. Abortion is a very complex issue, with many different factors that make it a morally gray area.
PL: It might be psychologically complex for the woman involved, but morally it isn't complex at all. If the unborn is not human then it is not necessary to justify abortion, but if the unborn is, then you are committing murder. So once again, you must present scientific and philisophical evidence to show that the unborn is not human.
PC: But would you force a woman to bring an unwanted child into the world?
PL: The homeless are unwanted, may we kill them?
PC: But that's different.
PL: By saying that's different, you've admitted that that's not even the issue. The issue is what is the unborn.
PC: Still, you shouldn't force your morality on a woman.
PL: You don't really believe that. You would be just fine forcing your morality on a woman who strangled her two year old to death.
PC: But the two situations are not the same.
PL: Oh, and why is that?
PC: Because you're assuming that the unborn are human.
PL: And you're assuming they're not. So we've reached the final issue. It's not about privacy, it's not about the mother's choice, it's not about expenses, it's not about unwantedness. There is only one question to answer, "What is the unborn?"
I have yet to see a pro-choice supporter present evidence to prove that an unborn child is not human. From the moment a child is conceived, that single celled zygote possesses the entire capcity to grow into an adult human. Saying that it is not human would be like saying that a five year old is somehow less human than a 30 year old simply because it has not yet grown and developed as much as the thirty year old. By the law of biogensis, dogs beget dogs, cats beget cats, and humans beget humans. If the unborn child is not human, then what is it and how can it not be human, in direct violation of the law of biogenesis.
All the arguments that are used against an unborn child's humanity are either scientifcally incorrect or based on arbitrary definitions that have nothing to do with one's intrinsic value.
For example, one cannot claim that a fetus is just a clump of cells. Dr. Maureen Condic, a Professor of Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Utah, states it clearly when she says,
"The critical difference between a collection of cells and a living organism is the ability of an organism to act in a coordinated manner for the continued health and maintenance of the body as a whole. It is precisely this ability that breaks down at the moment of death, however death might occur. Dead bodies may have plenty of live cells, but their cells no longer function together in a coordinated manner."
Quoting the Case for Life, "Science makes it clear that somatic cells (skin cells, sperm, ovum, blood cells, etc.) are not, and embryonic human beings are, distinct, self-integrating organisms capable of directing their own maturation as members of the human species."

I'm pro-choice. I have a kind of complicated view on abortion though. Personally, I would not have an abortion, but I'm pro-choice, because I think that every woman deserves the chance to make her own decision about abortion. Just because I personally don't think abortion is the best solution doesn't mean that I should be able to keep decide that it's wrong for every woman. How can I tell someone they're doing something wrong if I don't know their situation? Every woman deserves to choose for herself. I mean, who am I to tell a woman who has been raped that she should have to carry her rapist's baby? Or to tell a woman in any situation that she should have to bear a child?

Totally agree! I know all the rape stories and stuff. But a life is a life and there are so many people that want them no matter how their conceived. I would only consider abortion if the mother and the child are at risk due to complications that doctors can't handle. I believe that once a child is conceived, the child should be born. It's a life after all. Ok. I'm done.

Totally against abortion, with the exception of the state of health of the mother. If the mother's life is in jeopardy then there have to be measures taken to save her, otherwise there is no reason for an abortion to enter into the picture.

Pro-choice but I'm not talking about being stupid, getting pregnant, and using abortion as an out.
A woman doesn't choose to be raped, so how can some law tell her she has to be responsible for something that wasn't her fault?

It's hard because I'm against it because I see it as murdering someone but then I'm for it because the world is already over populated and people already find it hard to find jobs as it is

I'm for it if a mother can't afford to take care of a kid she shouldn't have one especially if she's on drugs and the husband doesn't want nothing to do with it. How could you raise a child in those situations?

Pro choice, you have to do what's right for you, besides there is 7 billion people on this planet

I'm for it.
Some,of the barely sentient things on here are the perfect advert for abortion.
