What is the highest sized alloys a 97 VW polo could take?
i have a 97 polo and i wanna get alloys, but 14's look a bit small. would 15's, even 16" alloys fit?

16 and that would be pushing it for the gearbox

15" wheels with 195.45.15 tyres, or 16" using 195.40.16 tyres, but both of these would be fairly expensive packages. The overall tyre diameter would be the same as your original tyres. No extra load on the gearbox, no change in ride height or speedo readings.

as long as the wheels are the same size, tyres included, it shouldn't matter, but 16's would look good, i had the same car, but wrote it off :/ and the steels are 14" :)
