Dog whimpers, barks, then runs out of the house?
Sometimes my dog whimpers and makes squeaky noises, then she barks loudly and runs to the dog flap to go outside and bark at something. I'm guessing this is because she heard something outside and wants me to check it out. How do I train her to not bark, or at least to run outside herself without barking?

put a lead on your dog and sit the dog down, then have some make a sound out side, when your dog goes to run firmly stop him/her and make the dog sit calmly, have treats to give your dog for staying, praise your dog a lot when it does it right, keep doing this till your dog associates siting calm with the treats and good praise, when your dog gets good try it without the lead and keep doing it till it become habit
persistence is the keys
it will take time but if you put in the time it will work

buy a "bark off". it scares the dog for a few days, but they get used to it. its like a sound wave that no one hears. the dog can only feel it through the air.

Give her a treat if you can get her inside
