University of Phoenix?

Are you currently a student? How do you like it? Do you think it is worth the money? If you have graduated were you able to get a job with a U of P degree? I'm asking because I have heard it is a "junk" school & if an employer sees a person took classes at U of P, they may not get hired. I'm thinking about taking online courses. I would like to hear from U of P students & or graduates. Thank you very much.

    HI,

Yes I did graduate with an AA in Health care Administration from UOP Online. Worth the money? I'm very satisfied with the education I received. Yes, I have a job offer, once I finish my BA in Health care Management. However, I was proactive in networking with family and friends. I also volunteer at a major hospital to gain experience while pursing my degree.

I find that people who call online degrees such as UOP junk, have never attended the school, have formed their own personal biases based on what they read on the internet, hearsay from a friend, or unwilling to embrace technology in online education.

Also, I wouldn't listen to PE2008, he's been trolling this board for 2 years, says the same thing over and over, yet has never experience UOP.

My sister-n-law has a BA from UOP Online and is working at a government job doing computer programming type work for the last 5 years.

My best friend just finished her Masters from a for-profit- online college and she was hired this week and now has a great job.

We are all living proof of what happens to life after graduating from an online for- profit college. Therefore, this would refute the idea of any preconceived notions that "most employers don't hire people who hold these degrees".

Any more questions feel free to email me through Yahoo! Good luck!

I've heard that, too. It's not cheaper than going to a regular college and they aren't being investigated by the Congress.

Employers have been know to toss all job applications listing a U of Phoenix degree directly into the trash.
