Did history start on January 20, 2009, for the Tea Party?

The Tea party is obsessed with debt and Democrats who they blame for it. Every time I have seen one of their leaders on a talk show they seem to be oblivious to any historical facts such as: 1. The US was running budget surpluses when Republicans and GWB took office in 2001. 2. GWB and the Republicans in charge from 2000 to 2006 waged two wars "off budget" meaning it went right onto the debt. 3. GWB and the Republicans passed a huge tax cut for rich people, who didn’t need it, that went right onto the debt. 4. The Republican "anything goes" relationship with Wall Street and Big Biz took us to the brink of economic ruin making the bailout a necessity, which again, went right onto the debt.

To the Tea Party, unknown, unimportant events occurred, then Obama was illegally elected and bailed out his pals on Wall Street making him a socialist/communist/white people hater who wants to bankrupt the country. Theirs is a simple world unbothered by any hard to grasp facts but severely bothered by dark skinned presidents.

You misunderstand. The Tea Parties started during the Bush Administration BECAUSE of Bush's out-of-control spending. The Tea Parties were and still mostly are a grass-roots movement of people that were fed up with the disconnect between the people and the politicians that are spending their money. If a "Conservative" Congress and president was not responsive to spending, the people had to act. The Tea Parties are painfully aware that there was a surplus prior to Bush taking office. A characterization of Bush, even before 9/11 was "Bush never met a spending bill he didn't like." Some Conservatives (like me) grudgingly came to this conclusion then. The numbers only grew. Conservative talk show hosts talked out against Bush's spending more and more.

On the issue of tax cuts. I noticed you failed to mention anything about the middle-class tax cuts. If you subscribe to the idea that the high-end tax cuts cost 700 billion then you also have to accept that the middle-class cuts cost 2.2 trillion. The high-end cuts were to spur a sluggish economy on. It worked. Two-thirds of small business and their owners are effected by it. It was NOT some sort of wink and a nod to "the rich". Even though Bush was a big spender, the debt was coming down in the last two years of his presidency, right up to TARP spending. Up until TARP, the deficit was manageable at around 250 billion. That's what it should be now, and even saying that is a stretch since any deficit is no good.

Please don't dabble on the edge of ignorance with the idea that Conservatives (with few exceptions) don't like Obama because he's black. It's about the political philosophy and the policies that come from that Conservatives are opposed too.

Ah Yes, the old - your a racist for opposing Obama claim - DUDE WAKE UP EVEN THE MAJORITY OF THE MINORITIES REALIZE OBAMA IS BEING OPPOSED FOR BEING AN INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT WITH A SOCIALIST AGENDA.

    FACTS:

U.S. Debt starting in 1776 up to 1989 is equal too what Obama has overspent in deficit spending in 2 years.

If GWB was running up trillion dollar deficits today we would be opposing his Presidency, but we have President Obama RIGHT NOW running up trillions of dollars in Deficit.

The Tea Party sprung up because of the Democrats Trillion dollar Stimulus bill which is considered a complete failure by 95% of Americans since it did not keep unemployment under 8% as claimed and the only jobs saved were those of the public union sector - The GOP pointed out that after 2 years the money would be gone and now that it is the states and local governments including schools that are having to make dramatic cuts to budgets and public sector unions are crying foul. Obama and the Democrats don't have the purse strings anymore the Republicans now control the House.
