Can you vote for your own answer?

Yes you can. It is not cheating everyone including the president of the U. S., the Prime Minster of Canada etc. etc. votes for themselves. It would of course be bad form to vote for yourself if your answer was not the best one.

Yes, we can vote for our own answers when the question has gone to voting. It IS allowed, and without cheating. Ideally, people will look over all answers and only choose their answer if it is best, but unfortunately, it doesn't always work that way.

We CAN NOT, as 2 other people have suggested, use multiple accounts for Yahoo! Answers. Doing so would risk permanently losing all accounts. You can have several Yahoo! accounts, but can only use one for Yahoo! Answers. Creating multiple accounts in order to vote several times is a sure way to lose all accounts, and is consider cheating.

Once it is in voting, yes you can. Lots of people do, even though their answer seems poor, they will vote for their own answer. Not only are you not penalized, you get points for it.

In fact some people create multiple "names", so they get more than 1 vote.

Here is how this works, you can have multiple accounts as long as you don't use one those accounts to answer or choose BA, but you CAN'T vote for yourself with one account, isn't this ironic.

I answered yes on this question last week and got numerous thumbs down for this and even got blocked by a TC so above is my new answer. I hope everyone is happy now.

I've done it before and never got penalized. They shouldn't let you do it if you're not allowed.
