why is my platy hiding?

i have a 20 gallon tank. ammonium nitrite and nitrate levels are fine. i have one wagtail platy and harlequin rasbora. since i introduced teh harlequin rasbora in tank, my platy has been hiding in the plant. he is a male so therefore cannot be pregnant. he comes out to eat but thats about it...

    He might do better with another Platy in the tank to help draw him out. Harlequin Rasboras are schooling fish. They do best in groups of six or more. He is likely very stressed and possibly running the Platy off out of fear. This could frighten the Platy into hiding. How long have you had both fish? If the Rasbora was put in the tank in the last couple days and you have had the Platy alone for a long time, he may be scared at first and come out with more time.

    Is the Rasbora male, too? The fish could be showing aggression towards each other, and it might be causing the Molly to hide because he's stressed and scared of the intruder.

    If the Rasbora is female, and larger, than the size might have something to do with it. If not, it might just be because he's stressed that theres a new tankmate.
