If you were to get a Hybrid car on a budget, which one would you get and why? Need some space to carry stuff.?

With gas the price it is, I am considering getting a replacement car for my 20-25 MPG Suzuki. I drive 200-350 miles per week in town and interstate locally.

What point does the advantage not favor a hybrid?

Update:

Thanks for your comments.

Currently diesel fuel is about 10% higher than regular gasoline. Diesel has problems in the cold here.

Not much point in buying a hybrid if you are doing most of your driving on the interstate. I know you said you do a mix, but just thought I'd point that out.

Also worth mentioning is that in all *likely a Suzuki (that doesn't get that great gas mileage) isn't going to get you much for a trade in value. So you'll be putting a lot down on a more expensive (because it's hybrid) car.

    *likelihood

Hybrids get the best mileage in the city, if I were driving a lot on the highway I would get a diesel, such as a jetta 1.9TDI

I wouldent suggest getting a hybrid cheap, if its old and the battery is bad then youll end up paying more for the battery then the car
