Whats the best and safest method to sell a HD?
We are leery of showing it at home (afraid they will come back and steal OR mug us for it) so Craigs List and ads are not the way to go, because we also can no longer ride the bike to meet a prospective buyer (health reasons)
Also, it would be priced about 15 grand and people dont do cash deals with that much money. What kind of check is safe to take these days? Or anyone know a good honest affordable agent that sells bikes?
Its a limited edition, 95th anniversary dyna wide glide with low miles in near-mint condition. Has been in the garage for 3 years.

Check with some custom bike shops in your area.Lots of them will take bikes on consignment. There are even car dealerships that do that. These days with all the forgery i wouldn't take any kind of check. Not even a cashiers check unless it was drawn from my own bank.Too much fraud going on.And i hope you do get 15k for your bike but i seriously doubt it.The market is just too weak right now.A more realistic price would be around 10k.And remember no matter how many extras you have on the bike it doesn't really add to the value very much(if at all) when you sell it.

Harley's sell really well. Advertise on the board at work or through word of mouth at the local HOG chapter (the monthly email to their members). If you price it lower than the used ones like it at the local Harley dealership, it will sell.
