Christians are praying specific prayers okay?
No, I don't mean praying something like "God I want a red Porch, and 1million in cash in the glove box." But I am asking about specific prayers say for a friend! Are they okay? Is it okay to ask God to do a favor for a friend? Is it okay to ask God to do something in the friends life (a specific request) that you are sure that will please God? Please help me understand your answer. Yes, I have a specific prayer that I am praying for a friend, but I am wondering how specific of a prayer is okay.

You are supposed to pray specific prayers. There are a few verses in the Bible that explain that prayer shouldn't be memorized. And yes, you can go to God for those things.

1. There is no actual restriction against highlighting or marking-it is just a mark of respect. I'm guessing you're not a Muslim and dont do the wudhu or start reading after reciting Fateha so it really shouldnt matter. Just dont make it dirty-a friend once highlighted the Bible and wrote stuff over it and I thought it was highly disrespectful, considering she wouldn't do the same to the Quran. 2. Istikhara is done after praying two rakah sunnat. It can't be done if you are stuck between two decisions, and are more inclined towards one. There is also no guarantee that the answer will be given in a dream(like any spiritual feeling/message).

We are urged to present our requests to God even though He knows our needs before asking.
We are then told to know the peace which passes all understanding.
As for how the prayer is answered we have to leave all the options to God because we have already
put the matter out of our hands for Him to resolve in terms of our long term best interests.
This is not the answer to your question I admit but its the closest we can get.
I believe God wants us to pray for the best interests of our friends and family but to offer our preconceived "best interest" is like saying we know better than God or He needs a suggestion box from us.
Let us share your prayers for your friend, though we do not know what to ask. Amen.

It is ok. God loves His children to pray for others. Jesus prayed for others.
The best things that you can give to your friend in this world, is a prayer for him to God.
As long as the prayer is not for a cursed but of love. Do not be surprise of what I said.

Pray with faith.
For without faith, your prayers won't go up any higher than the rafters.
In Jesus' name. Amen
HAHAHA I'd love to have a porch but not red, for crying out loud! With a three seater swing so I can stretch out on it and nap.

Yes, it is fine to pray for others, in fact God calls you love and pray for others. Good intention is what is needed. You just can't pray of bad things like " let ____ die" If you want a good and holy thing for someone else, it is very good to pray for them. But, God follows his will, he knows more than us for obvious reasons. So,also pray that his will be done.

It is not a sin and in fact you hit on the key requirement in your question. We are told that God grants our requests in accordance to his will. So, when you say it would be something you are sure will please God, that is a good attitude you display.

It's "Porsche."
If your claimed god has some kind of "plan," then it's going to happen the way he intends no matter what you ask or don't ask...right? So why pray?
Peace.

Pray to you front door - you'll get the same response.

Absolutely, it is always ok to ask God to do things for others, that's basically the most genuine prayer you can give. Nice name btw.
