Using American PSP in Malaysia?
I Live in California. I wish to buy my sister (who lives in Malaysia) a PSP 3000. I'm no tech-wizz and neither is she. I'm aware than she may need to get a charger there. I'm also going to get her the memory card and other accessories.
But what about games and such? Will she have any trouble playing the games she buys in Malaysia? How about music downloads and movies? WIll she be able to download movies from there with an american bought PSP.
Also, If you guys can provide me any details I may be missing, that would be great. Its her 21st and she just got an awesome job, so I wanna make this work. Any help in the matter will be most helpful, thank you!!!

There may be problems.... the P "'firmware" may be different for games and color system [e.g. games from America require American firmware....and games bought in Malaysia may require Malaysia firmware...and the games may be of different formats because of copy right issues.].... and if you want to download things,,,,, the system may again be different.........and yes- you would certainly require an adaptor for electrical mains power. Much better to send the money to her to buy in Malaysia.

You'll need an electrical converter to plug your PSP3000 into 220 volts. Your current PSP is a 110 volts (U.S version) so do not try to plug into 220 volts in Malaysia w/o purchasing the converter. Its cheap you can buy those at Radio Shack or Best buy or any electronics store.
PSP 3000 is I believe its a Region Free so definitely you can play every region game w/o any problem, unlike the older version PSP 1000, 2000 are Region Lock.

It a bit hassle. Plug need to convert, PSP need to hack. Better just buy in Malaysia.
