Local bank vs. federal credit union?
I'm thinking of changing to a credit union from by local bank, but would like to hear your experiences with both.

Most credit unions are insured by the NCUA, which is to credit unions what the FDIC is to banks. They won't "disappear", and if they do, your funds are insured.
I've been a credit union member for over 20 years and would never switch. They give their members personal service and better rates than any anonymous bank ever could do.
