If Bible-believers assume that animal "kinds" on Noah's Ark later diversified into individual species seen...?

.....in the world today, are they endorsing a kind of super-high-speed evolution that would allow so much "speciation" within just a few thousand years?

=========================================================

OPTIONAL EXPLANATION OF A POPULAR YEC VIEW OF THE "KINDS" ON NOAH'S ARK

In explaining to me why it is not impossible to imagine all of the world's animals (which "breath the breath of life") being rescued from the deluge on the Ark described in Genesis, Christian colleagues have told me that the "kinds" transported on the ark represented the ancestors of today's species which descended and diversified from those pairs. Thus, for example, I'm told that a particular male-female quadruped kind on the ark led to today's horses, zebras, deer, elk, reindeer, etc. Another pair of a particular bird kind led to all finches. Those promoting this concept are reluctant to say that a Genesis "kind" is always associated with a taxonomic FAMILY or SUBCLASS or group of closely related families but they tell me each animal KIND on the ark corresponds with many species today which descended from it and therefore still represent a single "kind".

So considering that most of those holding this view are strongly opposed to the theory of evolution and usually are Young Earth Creationists holding to a 6000+ year old earth, isn't it contradictory for them to assume that animals species can diversify and multiply so rapidly from ONE PAIR of relatively recent ancestors AT A SUPERSONIC SPEED FAR FASTER THAN ANYTHING THE MOST CONFIDENT EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGIST WOULD EVER ASSUME POSSIBLE?

Well, most Christians would tell you it's just "faith" and as a christian I do have "faith". But your question is one that that "answer" will solve. I'm not a theologist but this is my perspective. Noah's ark took 2 of each kind of animal, wheter that meant 1 bird or a whole bunch of different species of birds I don't know. One can only imagine it was different species which then evolved again.

THIS NOW GOES COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC

I take it that you're either an atheist or agnostic. Either way, have faith. Don't look too specifically on creation stories and the specifics of each and every thing. Instead try to look at the life lessons that are being taught throught the Bible, do good deeds, be kind to others, treat yourself and neighbor's with resepect. Simple moral guidlines that will benefit not only you but everyone around you. Try to understand it from a point of view that doesn't have all the answers. Christians can't just know everything, but we have faith that God will show us when he sees fit.

I'm not sure where you get your information. Biologists have identified several instances of rapid adaptation, including guppies on Trinidad, lizards in the Bahamas, daisies on the islands of British Columbia, and the house mice on Madeira. Another good example is a new "species" of mosquito, that can't interbreed with the parent population, arising in the London underground train system in only 100 years. The rapid change has astonished evolutionists.

As a further example, fish living in the same lake may become reproductively isolated because of genetically determined variation in food choices, and natural selection will favour the fittest size, and thus, different mate choices. This could explain the hundreds of cichlid species in Lake Victoria. 300 species have originated in the last several thousand years.

Speciation in itself is not the origin of a totally new life form at all. The new species is merely a minor variant {generally a subset} of the parent species.

i find it funny that christians try to spin the stories in a scientific-ish way to make it sound like it makes sense. when it really doesn't in the end.

based on that story, we can finally conclude that they do believe in evolution as they spit off into animals for specific regions. i'm still not sure why noah was some 600 years old when it happened though. and i really haven't found a solid answer for that.

one site said it was a math problem and if you divide this into that you get the answer. yet it doesn't explain the 40 days, or the 7 day miracles.

i know noah was supposed to make some kind of blood offering of some kind. and i think god was supposed to make them reproduce at an alarming rate. it must have been very stressful to the animals. and i'm still not sure why they had to reproduce at all, or even be carried to a new spot. after all if god made them in the first place - couldn't he just make more? that part never made any sense.

he makes adam and eve - they do the work. they never mention how they made the animals, or how they came to be... well anyway, we can go on an on about the loop holes of the bible.

    Matthew 22:29 (New International Version)

29Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God."

Now you take God and his power and capabilities out of your equation. Thus your conclusion is wrong. So add God and his power and then you may see that with God all things are possible. God could have just remade them all and not told of of it.

God made time and all of creation in seven days. So why is it contradictory to God? In seven days God did more than all of the rest of time has done. You limit God, picture God as big as you limited mind can. Then know God is bigger than you/we can picture. The creation can not picture/imagine the creator in fullness.

Why do you think we can do this? Why do you limit God in this? God created all we see and things we have not seen yet. But you think God can not do this little thing of restoring animals on the earth. God could have done it without the ark even. But chose to do it that way.

Ever read how Jesus multiplied food for the five thousand? God could have done this very thing in the animals, multiplied them supernaturally.

Seems you think you can fully understand it all and God. This is not possible. Realize humans are limited and God is not, then you may gain some understanding and knowledge of this.

A kind of animal is two animals of the opposite sex having the ability to have sexual intercourse sometime within their life to produce an offspring. God took two kinds of unclean and four kinds of clean animals to cross breed after the flood was over. Everything in the Bible makes sense.

They have yet to explain the vast biodiversity of Life on Earth. In denying evolution and affirming their fundie exegesis of Genesis, they are implying that every creature on earth today plus lots more who are now extinct fit on a boat.

Do they think this stuff through? No, they do not.

Noah's ark is completely debunked, there is no debate. The people that still believe in it are hopeless, so let's just move along.
