The pending government shutdown?
I didn't know that this was even possible for the US to do, but my concern is my pay. If serviceman's paychecks don't come, would i still eventually get my money? Any idea how long it would last? This is such bullcrap, i still have bills to pay.

I have faced this 3 times in 22 years. They always pass a temporary fix specifically for military pay...especially when people are deployed...mark my words..
And when it does pass you will be back paid...
Just got an email telling us to come in tomorrow and excusing the civilians who work in our area..

Actually just getting an email from my husband who is deployed currently this is what he has been told by his Battalion commander. The April 15th check will have the pay which is less than half of what we normal would receive closer to 1/3rd then if it has not been resolved by the 29th there will not be a paycheck on the 1st either. We will however receive all back pay once it has been resolved. Does this suck donkey d*ck yes. 100%. I have sat here this morning calling our finance companies and tacking on our april payments to the end of the loan to be on the safe side. And simply praying the government figures this out. From what I have read the main thing holding this up is them coming to an agreement on how the funding should be dispersed and how much Planned Parenthood should get. Um not for nothing but how about we worry about the families military or otherwise that need to pay their frickin bills to keep food in their kids stomaches!

You'll still be earning pay. You just won't get your paycheck (you will get pay for this week up until any shutdown). This is how the government is rationalizing what is essentially slavery. Trust me, we're all beyond p*issed off about this. Getting by on a PFC's salary is hard enough! Call and email your senators and congressmen and tell them to get their heads out of their a$$es and figure it out already. I used those exact words in 6 emails to representatives just yesterday. Frankly, you'd think they'd want to keep people happy when they're the ones in charge of the guns, tanks, missiles, and bombers, but that's what happens when the people are afraid of the government instead of the government being afraid of the people.
(By the way, the longest shutdown was 21 days, but military got paid during that)

"Shutdown" is misleading its not the entire government that shuts down. Essentials, like the military, stay open. But there are a lot of people that will not be getting a paycheck.

i'm hoping they give servicemen a pardon or something on all their bills. and i'm assuming they'll get one big check when this is all over. if not, that sucks monkey balls. this would be the first time in history (that i know of) that our boys in uniform didn't get pay
