I'm not too knowledgable about the current economy but I know its slowly improving form where it used to be. Just a general overview would be greatly appreciated.

Horrible, real estate prices are starting to take a dive again now and we're on the brink of a civil war. I would stay the hell out of any of the southwestern and southern states as they are quickly turning into 3rd world areas.
