As a 19 year old female, am I able to obtain custody of a 16 year old female?

A friend of mine is having a child with a 16 year old girl. He is 20, and her parents are being very difficult about the whole situation. I am financially stable and have been blessed with an early career in retail mgmt. If given the option, I would like to have a sit down talk with her parents and take her into my custody. Living with me she would be able to finish high school via cyber school and would have rules, because as I said she would be under my custody.

I'm wondering though, are there any rules stating that this is not an option in the state of Pennsylvania? Is there a loop hole, or is emancipation an option for her? I would like to help, and potentially adopt the baby after he/she is born. (I will be just about 21 by that time.) I would like to do this in the most legal and fair way, and I'd also like to avoid a lot of stress on the girl because we all know stress isn't good for an expecting mother! Thank you for all of your answers, in advanced.

Update:

16 is the age of consent.

Update 2:

I have discussed this with her, and her mother. Her father has custody of her and I am not more interested in the potential child, I am interested in the health of her as I care very much for her and her boyfriend. To repeat myself, the age of consent is 16 in Pennsylvania.

First of all, you would need to get the permission of the parents, which I doubt very highly you would. You would have to prove yourself capable of caring for the girl's physical, mental, and emotional needs- which, at 19, you are not.

Your friend is very lucky if he is not (yet) in jail for statutory rape. It also puts you, as his friend, in a very bad position for getting custody or any kind of connection with this girl. You say that it is the guy who is your friend, not the girl, and it sounds as though you are more interested in the potential child than you are in the girl. I would say that there is little to no chance for you to get custody of the child. If you want a child, you should have one of your own. From the sounds of it, you have not even talked to the girl about the situation, before having made all these plans and possibilities for the future. THe fact that you show no consideration for the feelings of the girl's parents- saying that they "are being very difficult about the whole situation," does not make me feel that you are emotionally mature enough to handle a child.

While your intentions are good, it doesn't sound like a good idea.
