    Well

I do not know how do you define Atheists

but most Japanese are Shinto or Buddhist

and many of them are both at the same time

and Shinto is basically a polytheistic religion.

    Yes and No...

There are more atheists and pantheists than Mono-Theists, but there is a fair representation of the Standard Western Judea-Christian/Islamic Cults.

They even have a decent spattering of Rastafarians! (Japanese guys with dreadlocks are just creepy!)

If it exists in the world, it exists in the country of Japan... The numbers may be SUPER small but they are there.

Shintoism & Buddhism are Atheistic in Leaning, if I'm not mistaken... And I believe they are they hold the major share of the stats.

As a Small Country, you can't have super high numbers of anything really... But Atheists make up most of the country in one form or another.

I don't know what you mean by "an atheist country". Atheism is just a position on the existence of deity, not an ideology nor a form of government. But Japan does have a significant percentage of atheists, if that's what you mean.

The country is secular and the people, while many of them identify as Shinto or Buddhist or even Christian, most of them are not terribly devout. They kind of even mix and match ceremonies from the religions which seem most interesting.

Japan, Vietnam, Denmark, Norway and Sweden have more atheists than theists. If that makes o country an "atheist country" then yes Japan is an atheist country

I believe it's about 65% atheist and the rest is mostly Buddhist, Shinto and only .5% Christian

I am not Japanese so I cannot speak for their countrymen. But I do know if you do not follow The Laws of God and obey them. That God only protects His children those that love Him, obey Him and ask for His help and seek Him out.

    For the most part, yes.

But where there aren't Atheists, usually there are Christians or Shintoists.

    Shinto and Buddhism I believe.

No. They are mainly Shinto (ancestral worshipers) or Buddhists.
