What effect will the government shut down have on Corporate Welfare?
Just curious if they are still going to get 75%, of every tax dollar collected.
Corporate Welfare in the form of No-Bid Contracts, No Fault contracts, privatization of lower services like Military being served by private workers who make twice to 4 times as much without having to pick up a gun and defend themselves (that's the Military's job after all), and I won't even get into the Tax Breaks given to corporations Not to pack-up and more production over seas. Those are just a couple of examples.
Just because a CEO doesn't have to go down to the closest branch of Social Services, spend a few hours filing out paperwork and then have to deal with a government employee asking for more documentation, don't mean they ain't getting Welfare from our government in other forms.
So Professor, what do you think of President Eisenhower going against the Supreme Court and Giving all of Americas Off Shore Oil Reserves to the Oil Industry? That's correct, he Gave it to them free of charge. That sir, is Corporate Welfare!
I get my information from American History
Hope your doing OK "Wise Guy".

EDIT: @WISEGUY: Where? Suggest going to see this year's Oscar-winning documentary, "Inside Job". True, It's not the authentic Truth like "Fox News". Then again -- what is? But now that Glenn Beck is headed for greener pastures, why not have a look? If nothing else, you can see what the little people have been up to while you've been Empire Building. That is, as ever, making propaganda filled with treasonous lies.
Source(s): Such as the link below. The troika of Standard Oil, and GM were sued under antitrust legislation for conspiring to destroy electrified mass-transit (streetcars and trams) in some 30 cities throughout the country. The object was to install roadways and buses that would use their products. Found guilty, the companies each paid a fine of $5000 (sic), and are so exempt from further pursuit under the law. The story was the subject of an entire episode of '60 Minutes' and is outlined here: http://culturechange.org/issue10/taken-for-a-ride.... and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_street... EDIT 2: Oh. Sorry Wise Guy. My mistake. That was an old story, long ago. And unlike today's bid-free contracts (see Halliburton Corp.), oil-depletion allowances, farm subsidies, and bank bailouts -- it wasn't Corporate Welfare. You're right. That was Free Enterprise. - THE WISE GUYLv 51 decade ago
Seriously, I have been a political ad visor for most of my life. I have never heard the term Corporate Welfare. Who is going to get 75% of each tax dollar. Please rephrase your question and explain terms. I have also run numerous companies and been a college professor. Please tell me all about having a company that receives 75% of all taxes. It sounds like an outstanding opportunity to make money. Seriously, where in the world did you get your information.
