Business or Political Science?
So in about a month and a half I will have completed my 36 California General Ed requirement units for college. I have a priority registration date coming up in about a week and since classes fill up fast I need to know what I'm going to be majoring in. It's between a major in PoliSci or Business. Political science interests me a lot. However, teaching isn't my thing and law school would only be a fall back. I have hopes to one day become a senator maybe even President. I know a PoliSci degree isn't required but I feel like it would be to my benefit in that field. When it comes to Business I want a back up plan in case my whole political career doesn't workout. Business management and economics interest me a lot and of course money is a priority. I'm just stuck between the two because both of which can offer me what will make me happy. Would it be smart to maybe combine them both or major in one and major in another branch of the other? Like I said before, teaching is out of the question and law school wouldn't really be my thing. Any positive responses will help :)

My strongest recommendation is NOT to settle on a major at the beginning of your college career. Take as broad a selection of courses as possible--there are plenty which will be part of any major. You have to figure your odds of a successful career as a politician are low (with 100 senators and 1 President, your odds of joining that club are lower than of becoming a star in the NBA), and politicians come from every background you can imagine.
(BTW, unlike many people, I don't think "politician" is a dirty word. If you want good politics, elect good politicians. You would not want a car mechanic who thought mechanics was a bad idea.)
I would also say that doing a job that bores you and pays a lot will lead to a lot less happiness than doing a job that is interesting and challenging that does not pay as much. All you know now is what you DON'T want to do. Spend a couple of years discovering what you love.

Depends for your competencies and pursuits, ask your self this, are you passionate approximately politics or the economic system. If you just like the economic system greater than politics, then foremost in industry management, in any other case, foremost in political technology

Go for Business management and economics...you can still run for an office. Our government needs
business majors not poli sci! POLITICIANS are what got us into this financial crisis (as wll as the citizens who WANT & EXPECT somethin' or everythin' for nothin)
