Can you go on and off the pill?

I see my boyfriend every other month so is it possible to be on the pill when i'm seeing him and then stop taking it until the next time or is that not safe?

Thanks.

    That wouldn't be advisable.

I mean when you go off of it you body would be trying to understand why it doesn't have hormones like it did the previous month. Then when it is getting used to it, you put hormones back in your body which then confuses it again.

It is best to keep taking it. That way your body will not be confused and you will know when your period will be. If you had irregular period off the pill you will have irregular period again off the pill. And if you had acne off the pill your acne will come back. (It did for me 10X worse than I had it).

And if you were to stop and have to start again and you didn't take it in the first 24 hours of your period then you would have to use a back up form of birth control for 7 days until enough hormone built up in your system.

So it would really be a hassle for you and very confusing to your body.
