Should we insist we went to the moon?
Look, many scientists have studied the loads of evidence on the internet and have concluded apollo was faked and recorded in a studio. Should we however insist we went to the moon? Is it unamerican to admit it never happened?
What arguments should real americans use even though we know we never went to the moon?

That was 40 years ago. Back then was a different America. To be American now is to forget the things that happened back then. America has been through a hard and confusing time with slavery, the practically genocide of Native Americans, and then we nuked Japan...twice. I'm an American and none of those things are in the boy-scout handbook (figuratively). However, at that time it was considered American.
40 years ago we went to the moon (maybe). But nobody else did! Not the Soviet Union. Not China. Not anybody else. It was the space race. And let me tell you, it was a difficult race to keep up in. They had to be quick and they had to be smart. We obviously won (however, we might have cheated to do so), but it doesn't matter. The space race was a fake itself. It was a waste of time, especially if one of the contestants cheated. What was the race for? They were assuming that whoever took over space would become the world superpower, but that doesn't make a hootin' difference! Because putting astronauts on the moon or in orbit or on Mars doesn't build an arsenal of nuclear weapons!! Astronauts can't do squat, but to build scientific knowledge, IN SPACE!! You can't rule the world when you are in space and not on the Earth! duh! I think the space race lasted 10 or 20 years and then it was finished because the Soviet Union found out they lost. I don't think it would have lasted much longer anyway. You can only go so far before you run into 10 foot thick lead walls. In fact, there were some of those walls present while sending astronauts to the moon 40 years ago that we didn't have the technology or knowledge to overcome. The US and Soviet Union might have kept going on with faked landings over and over. What kind of knowledge or discovery to you gain from a faked leap for man kind? None.
Sorry for the rambling. Basically, what happened back then doesn't matter.
Besides for all the scientific proof of a fake moon landing, this is the way I see it: They went there like 7 times in a time frame of 3 or 4 years and then didn't go at all after that. Why haven't they been back in the past 40 years? Because they didn't go there in the first place.
Countering that argument: Before the 7 successful manned moon landings were failure and successful unmanned moon landings. I believe they actually did get get those unmanned vehicles on the moon. If they could do that, how hard could it be for a manned landing? Not so hard.
I still don't know. I've been teeter-tottering between what's right. For now, I'm gonna say they actually did land, but I'm still skeptical. I think, if they did fake it then we would have hard proof by now.

>>Look, many scientists have studied the loads of evidence on the internet<<
Haha! Do you honestly think scientists use the internet as a research tool in that way? Real research involves going to the source, not finding a poor copy of it online.
>>and have concluded apollo was faked and recorded in a studio.<<
Please cite one real scientist who has concluded any such thing. Many people have claimed it, but I have yet to see anyone provide decent credentials to say they have done the research properly.
Apollo was real. Deal with it.

Hey, I was on the recovery ship (USS Hornet CVS 12) that picked up Apollo 11 and 12. We got close enough to see Apollo 12 come down. I got to meet and see the Astronauts in their quarantine container. I did have a piece of the burn residue from the bottom of the capsule. There is no if, ands, or maybes about it , we went to the moon and that's that. There were millions of dollars, into the billions spent to send those men to the moon and if it didn't happen then that was the biggest fraud pulled on the world. You should have asked were is Obamas birth certificate that would have been a legitimate question.

> many scientists have studied the loads of evidence on the internet and have concluded apollo was faked and recorded in a studio
That is a totally wrong statement. I challenge you to name even ONE reputable scientist who has reached such a conclusion. How can you dare to question perhaps the greatest achievement in human history if you can't even SPELL "Apollo"?
The six Apollo Moon landings are among the best documented events in human history: thousands of pictures, hours of video, 382 kg. of Moon rocks, and millions of eye witnesses, including myself. There is not a single scientist in the world who doubts that they took place. To deny them is to discredit the magnificent achievement of the team which went to the Moon, and to reveal abysmal scientific ignorance.
The proofs of the Moon landings have been documented in detail on web sites like these:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html
http://www.braeunig.us/space/hoax.htm
If further proof is needed, NASA recently released images from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter showing 5 of the 6 Apollo landers, still on the surface of the Moon:

Not one single scientist has "studied the loads of evidence on the internet and have concluded apollo was faked".
Anybody who claims to have "studied the loads of evidence on the internet and have concluded apollo was faked" is an ignorant idiot.

This is a loaded question. There are no credible scientists who claim astronauts did not land on the moon.
Men have landed on the moon six (6) different times, with 12 astronauts who have walked on the moon. All the conspiracy theories that have been proposed to contest the moon landings have been debunked.
Here's a site that might change your mind, but then again, if you believe in the conspiracies, there might not be any amount of proof that would convince you.

Please cite names and publications for "scientists" and the "loads of evidence".
"...real Americans..." An American is "real" only if they agree with you. Nice.
Some of us who live elsewhere on this ball of rock (surprise, surprise...we *do* exist) find the evidence for the reality of the moon landings in the link below pretty persuasive.
If your attention span is short, however, consider why the Russians would not have exposed an American fraud at the height of the Cold War. (Were you alive during the Cold War? It was in all the papers.)

What good will it do.
Nobody will believe it anyway.
The only way the argument is ever gonna be settled is; by National Geographic fund it's own space voyage to Tranquility Base and beam back photographic evidence of Apollo 11 having been there.
Even then. nobody will believe it.

I guess you just believe in what you want. I do believe they went to the moon. Mythbusters actually busted the myths that it was recorded in a studio. The thing that confuses me is why we haven't been to the moon since 1972.
