What do cops do most on the job?
How would a police officer's job break down percentage wise in what they do in a day? Like what percent is shootings and action, what percentage is high incidents like fights, etc. and whatever else they do.
I know it's different for every police officer but say for a patrol officer.

Most of your time on the road is answering calls for service. Those would be the calls citizens make to dispatch requesting an officer. There is no way to predict what will happen next, so you can't break it down into percentages.
When you do not have any calls pending, you drive around on patrol and look for violations of the law.

You'd be very surprised at how it is very different then your thinking it is. Police in Canada don't often have to deal with "high incident" cases. A lot of their day is more paper work and "patroling". They also have to attend bail court in the morning (for every arrest they make).
