What kind of fish is this?

    That is definitely a mosquito guppy. I have two and one is pregnant.

    It looks like a mosquitofish or gambusia, Gambusia affinis.

    It's a rather common fish in the southern half of the U.S. west of the Rocky Mountains.

    It's rather easty to keep and breed, but it's known as a fin nipper, so it's not a good idea to keep it with other species, especially if the other fish are long-finned or slow-moving.
