how can i humanely get rid of woodchucks?
there are at least two woodchucks living under our deck. they are huge and the dog cannot get rid of them. i have heard of using cat litter and fox pee to scare them away, but is there a less disgusting way? we can't really use traps and we do not want to hurt them, we just want them to move!

we trap them
the traps are around forty dollars - cheaper than the damage they cause
then we put them in the back of a pickup truck and take them for a little car ride
to the lovely wooded area about 15 miles away
using a broom handle through the cage we lift them out - because by this time they are rather put out about the whole moving eviction thing - they we pull the cute chain on the trap and open up the door - only one time has a chuck charged at us, that one was exterminated because it didn't have a fear of human - but the others have just toddled off into the woods to their new lives

How much wood can a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood ?

Only other way would look for an animal control that will trap and relocate them for you. I found one that did it for me with raccoons.
