Why are christians happy when they survive cancer?

Shouldn't they be upset that they were not allowed into paradise at that time and that they would have to wait even longer now? Shouldn't death be a celebration instead of being mourned? It would seem that if someone accidentally killed a christian child that the parent of that child should rejoice since they are now in paradise, but this is never the case.

Do you all really believe in heaven? From the way you all react to death is sure doesn't seem so.

Update:

Rocco Lore, perhaps you should read the entire question before making a stupid response.

Deep down, everyone knows dead is dead. Afterlife is just a hope, but that doesn't make it true.

And you say that to say:

I have a question for you:

Have you met all Christians? Then why do people act like they can judge the things of God by what they hear in their own dark hearts; without really reaching out in life and seeking a full truth for themselves.

For a truth from me will tell you that i would too be happy i survived cancer. So that i can be a testimony to someone that may be afraid. And so that i can continue to spread Gods good word. See we are not led like the world, God doenst make us that selfish, or narrow minded that we would want to die then live. We live so that we can please God, and we live to show men that God loves them, how can i tell you how much God loves you if i am not here anymore.

So humble your heart and know that if i see foolishness in this, how does God feel, and how can He touch your heart when you harden it like a shell that doesnt want any light to get in.

And then you say that if a child dies that a parent shall rejoice. Is there not a pain in loosing someone, are we not human, and does God not understand. Lets look at what Jesus did with Lazarus. Jesus new that He would give Lazarus life, but He still wept. Jesus wept. So He was concerned and bothered by the pain of the people. Their loss and pain hurt God. Even though God new that He would give Lazarus his life back. We still feel that pain of loss because we become attached to things in a personal way. Be wise brother and speak wise before you waste time with such vain and narrow minded statements.

My grandfather recently died of cancer. No it was no party, not for him, and not for me. We both knew where he was going, he had no fear or reluctance aside from knowing the living will be taken care of.

Obviously no one would would rejoice in the death of a child, are you an idiot? Clearly it is a shame when a young life is cut down, especially at the hand of another man. Knowing there is an afterlife can comfort us, but we are always sad to see someone go.

Do you think my grandma is thrilled all day spending her hours alone in a big empty house? She prays for death daily. Knowing he is gone to heaven does not completely diminish the pain of losing them to begin with.

That is why life after death does not make sense. Besides in order for anyone to have thoughts the brain has to be alive.

(Ecclesiastes 9:4-6) 4 For as respects whoever is joined to all the living there exists confidence, because a live dog is better off than a dead lion. 5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

As Christians we want to celebrate life and spread the word of the Lord. If we die young that means that we can not continue to do our ministry work. It is also proof that the Lord heals us when it is right. If not, then it is out time and the Lord needs us for some other reason.

Therefore, I would be happy either way.

It would depend on where they are in relationship with their walk with the Lord. Not all Christians are ready to give up the things of this world. Life is a gift from God and they don't want to give up that gift yet. It's a personal thing for every individual.

Yes, I believe in Heaven and when someone who belongs to Jesus goes there, I am happy but I miss them for a short while.

God gave us life. Jesus tells us that He came to give life and to give it more abundantly. When we are cured of some disease, we are blessed with a little bit longer time here. But whether here or there, we are in God's hands.

P.S. My husband had throat cancer. God healed him but, we knew that if God was ready for him, he would be ok but I would be lonesome for him while I am still here. When my husband thanked the doctor for his part in saving his life, his doctor told him that all was in God's hands. Praise God for a Christian doctor.

Christians have their own agenda on life after death. Most of them, understandably, are frightened of death but a high proportion of them seem also to be frightened of life!

Because true believers in Christ will see it as a opportunity to Praise the Lord for his kindness and the opportunity to continue to serve Him here on earth.
