Drama or Comedy, examples;

"All the Presidents Men"

"Dave"

"My fellow Americans"

"Head of State"

"Back Draft"

"The Majestic"

Update:

I know "Back Draft" was centered around a fire fighting family, I was looking at the back story, the shutting down of fire depts. for the profits of a couple politians.

Backdraft? That was about a family of firemen.

I liked Bulworth. But Power is my favorite. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1800107513/info

    #1 must be 'Apocalypse Now'!

After that, so many truly greats. 'The Conformist', by Bertolucci, and Kubrick's immortal 'Dr. Strangelove'. Both of them, like all truly great art, remain as pertinent today as ever. Also noteworthy because of the political twist thrown in by his manipulation of the original plot, is Milos Foreman's 1980 'Hair'. And of course Arthur Penn's fabulous panorama 'Little Big Man'.

Not "a political film"? How about this quote from the Indian Chief; only one of many:

"There is an unlimited number of White Men. But there has always been a limited number of Human Beings."

Source(s): P.S. Even though both were really romance-intrigues, they were as you say "politically-based". Two all time greats: 'Notorious', and of course -- 'Casablanca'.

    Iron Will

Obviously my thumbs down either 1) Never saw the movie or 2) Are not smart enough to pick up on the parallel storyline at the time this movie takes place of the United States emerging as a world influence in a scary new industrialized world pre World War One.

Summary: When Will Stoneman's (The great American hope) father dies, he is left alone to take care of his mother and their land. Needing money to maintain it, he decides to join a cross country dogsled race. This race will require days of racing for long hours, through harsh weather and terrain. This young man will need a lot of courage and a strong will to complete this race.

Great movie - I highly recommend it!

The Manchurian Candidate via fact it exhibits how insidious and corrupt people who could benefit potential could desire to be. i'm undeclared and vote for the candidate with the terrific platform. My different action picture decision may be the Pelican short on account it extremely is with regards to the ecosystem, pay to play political impact and management pushed through potential and funds.
