Co-Op have displayed a wine at £9.99?

for the last 3 months....it is clearly displayed as £9.99, but I have just noticed that last 3 purchases I have been charged £10.49.....not going to lose sleep over it (good Wine) but what are my rights in this issue.....if I did complain...not sure how long it has been charged at higher price. Thanks All...!!!

Co-Op are one of the good guys amongst supermarkets, and I am sure it is a mistake. Maybe they have not changed the barcode price on the till. Just go and ask.

Previous answer is incorrect. In a self-service store such as a supermarket, the goods displayed are an 'invitation to treat' and it's up to you to offer to buy them at the price the store appears to be charging. If that price is wrong, the store can refuse to sell to you. If you don't notice you are being charged a different price at the till, then you are deemed to have agreed to the price.

That's the legal bit over. If you complain (politely!), there's a good chance of getting a goodwill gesture such as refund of part of the price of similar.

    Worth a go!

If it's displayed at £.9.99, that's the price they must sell it at. Take your receipts to the store and point out the sign that states the price is £9.99 and get a refund. They owe you £1.50 at the very least.
