It's just a paper about the Court? How long is it? Are there any restrictions? Is it about the modern Court, the history of the Court, the development of the Court, any particular cases?

    Here are four ideas:

    - One of the things Chief Justice Roberts said he'd do as chief is get the Court to consensus -- fewer separate writings, majority opinions in more cases (instead of plurality writings, etc.) compared to the very fractured Rehnquist Court. Has that come true?

    - People claim that Justice Thomas is just a "follower" of Justice Scalia. What, in the past five years, shows that to be true or false?

    - The Court is anti-democratic (unelected people make decisions, sometimes overruling the will of the majority). Is it a good thing? Is Marbury v. Madison wrong? Should the Supreme Court review actions of Congress to see if they violate the constitution? Or should Congress be in charge of that themselves (i.e. if they pass a law and they believe it's constitutional, then that's the end of it).

    - Some members of the Court don't believe that it should cite to foreign law to interpret U.S. law (particularly the U.S. constitution... particularly the "cruel and unusual punishment" part of it). Lay out the argument and the counterargument.
