I have been told the IE is bad to use, is this true and if so what is should I use instead?
I have been looking through yahoo answers the last week or so and it has been suggested that IE is not safe, why and what is best to use? Also it mentions that yahoo tool bar is not the best to use, what is?
The reason I am asking is I earlier this week posted a question about free spyware removal which my computer was loaded with. I followed some of the advice which has made an amazing difference already. I just want to keep on top of it now and minimize the threats by having the best programs that I can. Thanks for the advice.

Internet Explorer has always been a joke when it comes to security - and despite that, it is still the most commonly used (since it comes on every windows machine that people buy) so virus/spyware/malware writers tend to target it exclusively - knowing that those same people are suckers for clicking on stuff, and generally don't have any anti-virus (or if they do it is either norton or mccaffee - both of which are a joke on their own).
There are no guarantees when it comes to computer security - which is why your best bet is usually a layered approach, and some common sense. Start by downloading Mozilla Firefox. It combines a firewall with a browser - and runs considerably better than IE. I still keep IE on my machine for the rare occasions that somebody didn't bother to beta test their site on Firefox and it won't load correctly - I keep it labeled 'Internet Exploder' though - just to remind myself.
Google Chrome is another good option - actually having several browsers is a good idea - that way if a virus/malware manages to disable one, you can still get online to download a fix. I even keep a few older versions of Mozilla - since they tend to be immune to more modern attacks that are exploiting newer security loopholes in parts of the program that didn't even exist back then.

It is said that IE has a lot of holes in it. Even I don't use IE. Some good alternatives are Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. There's also Opera and Safari, but I prefer Firefox and Chrome.

Internet explorer is Microsoft's default browser but it is not speed and also not secured since it has many bugs and many security problems. The best one is Firefox since its speed, free and easy to use and is much better than IE. Yeah you should use Firefox instead of IE but you are using Safari then you can rely on it. IE then i strongly suggest Mozilla Firefox .
