Can I put black semi-permanent dye over red semi-permanent dye?

I dyed my hair last night with a semi-permanent medium auburn dye and I don't like the results. First off, my hair is naturally dark brown but the hair surrounding my face is blonde...probably from the sun. So of course the fine blonde hairs turned orange and the rest of my dark hair barely looks red. It has a red tint if the light hits it but it still looks brown. I didn't have any dye on my hair before this so my hair is in pretty good shape...I'd like to keep it that way. I'm afraid to use Color Oops or Colorfix because I hear they can lighten your natural color. Is it just possible to put a black semi-permanent dye over the red? Possibly today or would that be too soon? This orange has to go asap!! Thanks so much for any advice.

You can put Black semi over the red. But you will find that after time it will fade to a brown red colour. Red is the hardest tone to get out of someones hair. and when working with orange tones you need to some form of an ash to cancel off the orange. But going black would be the easy thing to do. Just remember once your black and you try to lighten it up you will go back ginger

You should really book yourself in to see a colour specialist..
