Catholics, I have Some Questions? Please Advise?
First of all I must say that I am a believer, but I was never officially a catholic or baptised as one ,although In the past I attended church many time with friends. I no longer do this as I now migrated to a new place and know almost no one here.
Well I have a few questions.
1) When I was much younger (4-12),I actually saw an angel. I often had visions, I would see things, evil things like demonic figures etc, and was terrified by them for years. One night while I was resting in my bed with an open window a white angel with wings appeared with light around itself and this angel touched me on the head, before I could make a move, It just looked at me and rose upwards and dissapeared out of the window. What could this have meant? (Im quite sure this was not the regular imaginary stuff that children see)
And another thing, what would my guardian angel be if I was born 28/10/1991?
2) I often have prophetic dreams that actually come true (within days or months). My friend told me that nothing is wrong with this as Joel 2:28 says that people will have prophetic dreams. What is the catholic view / opinion of this?
3) Sometimes I just sense things before they happen.
4) The strangest thing is since I started believing, whenever I do something that is considered mildly bad, (like drinking a bit too much for example) disastrous events start taking place in my life and things only become somehow more peaceful when I pray and read the bible etc.
5) I had 3 visions that came true, although I have no idea how they happened or what caused them.
There were numerous times in my life when I could have died, car accidents, truck accidents, sickness, attempted suicide, gang attacks, and numerous health problems, and other things that I wont mention here. I survived all of them and I do not believe that all this happened by coincidence.
I feel as if I am angry with this "world" In a way, because defects of the society misleads many people and in some cases causes more trouble than good I dont like to see things like this. (I dont know if you'll understand what I mean in the right context though)
For most of my life, I dont know what Is going on with me, and now for some strange reason I feel somehow drawn to the catholic church, maybe it is because I attended services in the past (but I really dont know why). The thing is I do not know how to approach a church and tell them all this.
Please advise me about my questions and about how I should approach a church with everything that I mentioned. Also let me know how the mentioned things corresponed with the church (if the do at all)
Thanks
Lucien

1a) Without any sort of message given to you by the angel, it's impossible for me to guess what that experience meant. It might have been just a reassurance to you that there is a God and that your guardian angel is always close.
1b) Your guardian angel is given to you by God, and that's all we know. If you're asking for a name or something, we don't know the names of our guardian angels. Some people give their angels a name or ask the angel to reveal a name to call them, but it's not a regular thing.
2) Catholics agree that some people have the gift of prophesy. But you need a spiritual director to help you interpret these prophesies, because one person alone can be attacked by satan in subtle ways, but as Jesus said, "Wherever two or more are gathered in My Name, I AM." So once you become Catholic, you'll have to seek out a priest to help you.
3) Yeah, me too. I think that's either the Holy Spirit or my guardian angel.
4) Reading the Bible and praying gives any person peace, while sin brews discord. This is easy to handle - just stay close to Jesus, pray and worship and study the Bible daily.
5) Catholicism will be a great help to you. What you need to do is simple. First, call the nearest Catholic parish and tell them you want to take instruction to become Catholic. The class is called RICA and it's free, but the current class is just about to end, so you'll have to wait for the next one to start. Second, you can start going to Mass every Sunday - every day, really - you just can't receive Communion yet. A great resource for you will be a little book called, "The How-To Book of the Mass" by Michael Dubriel, which explains everything in detail. Third, you can start your education now, by reading the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (free online) and books like, "What Catholics Really Believe" by Karl Keating. Fourth, after you complete RCIA and are baptized and confirmed, make an appointment with the parish priest to discuss your prophetic experiences and to get help finding a good spiritual director.

1. We all have guardian angels and it looks like yours was protecting you.
Guardian angels are not assigned by your birth year or month or anything like that. Every person has a specific guardian angel. We do not share them like zodiac signs or something.
2. Yes, the Catholic Church knows that there are people who have been given the gift of prophecy. See Fatima for an example.
3. I too have had that, though not often.
4. I would recommend you be careful with this. You are leading yourself towards the belief of Karma (i.e. when you do bad things, bad things happen and when you do good things, good things happen). If you read the lives of the Saints. Praying and reading the Bible and ect. does not mean good things will happen in your life. Many of the Saints died horrible deaths.
5. You sound like you may have the gift of prophecy.
It sounds to me like you are being called home to the Catholic Church. And it sounds like God is protecting you because He has a plan for you if you will listen to Him.
You might be interested in listening to Fr. Donald Calloway, who was a very, very, very, very bad teenager. And I don't mean regular bad as in disobeying parents. He got kicked out of Japan by the goverment of Japan. He is never allowed to go back there. Ever.
Also, I would recommend you contact your local Catholic church and asking to make an appointment with a priest. You do not need to divulge any information regarding why if you do not want to.
I will say though that some priests will not like what you say. Many priests are wary of people going too far into the supernatural and trying to make everything into something from God, but what I would recommend as a first step is to contact a priest and speak with him.
Sometimes these things aren't from God, but from Satan. It needs to be discerned by you and by a priest. I remember reading one story about a priest who was able to tell what sins were upon a person's soul and what they were withholding during the Sacrament of Confession.
But as time went on, he noticed that he wasn't growing in charity or humility or anything Christ-like. Instead of he cranky and grumpy and becoming worse. So he spoke to a priest regarding this and was told to see an exorcist. It ended up not being a gift from God, but a trick from Satan to try and make him prideful, arrogant and take away from Christ.

wait till your ready. Catholic services don't usually keep track of who's coming or going so you can go to Church until you are ready to make a deeper commitment.
