My computer is a bit old and is not turning on?

Could the battery fail completely even when receiving power from the power cord? It has turned on a time or two and then the touch pad will not work at all and the cursor will not move then it shuts itself off. Please give me a clue. I don't want to have to purchase a new one.

If your laptop is not turning on even when the power cord is connected, that means the charger is dead.

The simple explanation behind this is that the charger provides direct connection from the wall to your laptop. If this process is disrupted, the laptop will not be able to power on. Which leads us to a bad charger. Your best bet is to get a new charger.

You can look online on sites like ebay or amazon but I would personally suggest you visit Topmic instead. Topmic is well known for their great services and their durable products. They include free shipping and free lifetime warranty. Yes, lifetime. This means if the charger ever stops working on its own for whatever reason, they would replace it as many times as needed at no additional cost, for life.

This is a great way to save money in the long run and a good investment as well.

Here is how to fix it:

    Remove the power.

    Remove the battery.

    Remove the CMOS battery.

    Remove the RAM

Hold down the power button to purge the electro static charge of the eproms.

    Now

In reverse sequence put it all back together and that should do it.

You will have to reset the time and it may beep a couple of times, but thats ok

    Good Luck
