How to create a website using a pre-purchased domain name?

I bought a domain name using godaddy.com. How do I use that domain name when I start to make the actual site. I was planning on using freewebs as the site host, but how do I use my already created domain name without having to pay for it again through freewebs? If there's an easier way than using freewebs, let me know.

TIA,

-G.B.

There are actually two elements to pointing the DNS record at a nameserver, you will need to tell freewebs (or whatever host you use) so that they know that the domain is being pointed at their server - they will have to configure their nameserver so it 'knows' where the site root is going to be. Then you will need to adjust the DNS settings in your GoDaddy dashboard to point at the freewebs nameserver.

It is not too difficult to set up.

I tend to host my sites on an 'unlimited' hosting package that I get from webhostingpad - they do a great deal for unlimited hosting (as many sites as you want, and you can set up add-on domains yourself). This also allows you to configure as many email addresses as you want for your domain - so if you want to use email on this domain, consider this type of hosting package rather than a free one. Any additional domains that you then buy from GoDaddy or elsewhere can just be added to the same package for free.

I wrote an article about the domain registrars and hosting service that I use (see the link below):

when you purchase a domain name, most registrars give you the opportunity to redirect the domain name to point to another IP address or dns entry so you can use your existing host.

Try weebly.its also free and it allows you to use your own domain.
