Help! Dilemma with cop, please read?

Hi. So today I was with my female friend (she is 14 and I'm a 16 year old male) and we were hanging out at the walmart parking lot. We were minding my own business and I was smoking a cig, when suddenly a guy comes over to us. At first I thought he was gonna ask for a cig, but then he lifted up his shirt to reveal a badge he had on his belt! So of course we were gonna get in trouble for smoking underage (ughh) so I was just like let's get this over with, so I cooperated and was calm. He was being really rude and saying what the hell do you think you're doing out here, WTF? Anyway, he made me put out the cig and then he asked to search me to see if I had more. The thing is...is that I suddenly remembered I was carrying a VICODIN pill with me (UGHH!!!!!!!). It was in my pack and he wanted to see inside my pack, so before I showed him I just told the truth and said "by the way, there's a pain killer in there." He checked it and all and asked what kind it was. I told him hydrocodone, and he just looked at me stupidly...so I said vicodin. Then the *** said "do you think I'm ******* stupid? Tell me what it is!" so I said it's JUST LIKE VICODIN except it's GENERIC! (Watson 540). I started getting annoyed. He called my mom and said blah blah blah all the nasty stuff and asked if she was gonna pick me and my friend up, she said yes. After he hung up he asked me again what it was. I explained it in more detail to him...say that it contains HYDROCODONE and it is a generic version of VICODIN. PAIN KILLER. He then tried to scare me and etc etc. He let us go though.

Here's the thing, I was a little suspicious that it wasn't a real cop. He told us that he was an undercover cop, then he said he was a detective (?). He also didn't know what hydrocodone was...wouldn't all cops know? When I said pain killer he also said something about tylenol...WTF????? He also just left us there so my mom could pick us up. Also....here's the funny part. My friend had about 3 vicodin on her and a ton of muscle relaxers!!! thank god he didn't search her thoroughly.

Basically, was this a real cop or a fake one? He did have a badge but hey...doesn't always mean they're real. He was really stupid so I'm not sure, and he was cussing and being rude even though we were cooperating (assholes). Thanks for any answers.

p.s. please no lecturing on not to do drugs

Update:

Sorry I forgot to mention that he made me crush the Vicodin pill infront of him, so he didn't keep the pill or anything.

Update 2:

1st, if someone chooses to use drugs that's their choice

2nd, I was asking because he was so UNPROFESSIONAL and stupid. I thought cops were atleast a little smart.

3rd...I never said I thought cops were friends, I just thought they would atleast just get to the chase without being an ***. & I really wasn't baiting myself I wasn't near the entrance to the store.

Update 3:

amen to that mr. tudball.....i guess a teenager smoking a cig away from people is a threat to society...lmfao!!! and my friend was more lucky than me, I thought she was going to get screwed

Update 4:

yes he made us show what was in my backpack and what was in my friend's bag...he didn't search it himself though. He did patted my shoes and jacket and didn't check the girl. He made me show what was in my pockets. I didn't know that that could count as assault, but I don't even know what to do about it. He wasn't wearing a uniform either...but he didn't say he was an undercover cop. I don't know. He also said that he would call my mom in the morning to check up.....wtf??? What should I do if he does call and he wants to come over to my house? Is that even legal? Does he have the right?

Update 5:

Hey LISTEN legit, there was a HUGE NOTICABLE pill holder in my pack which had the pill in it. I just wanted to tell him at first because he was going to check what was inside it ANYWAY and I didn't want him to be a drama queen about it. So stfu.

If anyone identifies him or herself as a cop, the badge is just part of the identification. Ask to see the picture ID as anyone can get a badge from a badge shop. Also ask for a badge number and the name of their shift commander. Ask for the phone number to the office they are stationed under. Then call 411 to verify that information.

If they are rude and want to really be in your face, ask for a supervisor. If they refuse, call 911 and tell them you have a cop who is out of bounds and refuses to get his/her supervisor.

Its amazing what happens when you get the individual under supervision. In your case, if this was actually a cop, and they actually called for the supervisor, you would have been screwed with the pill.

As a minor you can also request that your parent be present. If this is a fake cop, they might say it is not necessary. You state that you have a legal right to have a parent or guardian present to act as your legal counsel. If they refuse, then they just violated your rights.

No cop, I don't care what the situation is, can search a minor without someone else present. If this guy was digging through your stuff or wanted to search you, I would file charges of assault and possible child molestation. As your gal was there she can testify regarding this.

Lastly, you can go into the store and ask for the manager or security supervisor. Tell them what happened and ask them to pull the tapes for possible evidence.

It sounds like you got a case of Kosher Pork (such a thing can never exist) - i.e. fake cop.

And as for you doing drugs....I won't get on your case about it...I'll let the real cops do that....

Cops tend to use foul language when they deal with people who break the law simply because they can. I've dealt with the police before, not even because I was being arrested or in trouble, and they swore a lot. I think he just left you there because he wasn't intending to do anything about it, probably just wanted to scare you and ensure that your mother knew about what you were up to. He probably just deals with a lot of kids and knows he can push you around so he did. If you want to know if he is a fake cop for another reason other than curiousty then go down to the police station and ask them about him.

I would contact the local precinct to be sure he was a real cop. It happens that sometimes there are impostors but he did call your Mom and I doubt an impostor would do that.

No such luck on not lecturing. If I was your Mom I would ground you till your twenty and drug test you every other week. There are lots of sixteen Y/Os down in the morgue and that is permanent. Maybe you need a tour of it while your on your feet and not your back.

And the "it won't happen with me" don't fly. I've seen a lot of kids dead and I'm sure their last thought was "This isn't suppose to happen".

Yes it was bizarre that a real police officer (detective) wouldn't know what Vicodin was!! Call the police precint and ask if thers is such detective in that area.

"He also didn't know what hydrocodone was...wouldn't all cops know? When I said pain killer he also said something about tylenol..." LMFAOOOO

And btw stop thinking cops are your friends their not. Why would anyone be dumb enough to bait themselves out like that.

    Edit:

"Hey officer... I got a vicodin pill at the bottom on my pack"

You would rather get a criminal record and play friends with a cops? Stupid.

Oh no.. thats not baiting yourself out at all.

Welcome to the justice system. You had a chance to actually see "real-world" law enforcement. Although there are good cops out there, the majority of them are underpaid, angry people who feel like they're stuck in a dead-end job. So, guess what? They cuss at you and treat you like you're a dirtbag all because they hate their own miserable life. By the way...you are one VERRRRRY, VERRRRRY lucky guy. In my hometown you would've spent the night in your own private jail cell or even juvie.

Have your mother drive you to the police station and talk to someone there, describe him and find out if they know who he is or not.

p.s. Drugs are bad and are only for losers.
