who was shocked when Edge announced his retirement on RAW?
Edge retired and relinquished his world heavyweight title on smackdown. Who was surprised that he went out this way and what are your thoughts on what he should do now? he is the most decorated superstar in WWEs history. Should he be inducted into the HOF 2012?

I could not believe it. I figured Edge still had some fight in him to keep wrestling but then when he said he was retiring, I thought it was going to be a gimmick like when Kurt Angle said he could never wrestle again and was in a wheelchair but I was honestly shocked when I read it was true.
I didn't think Edge would retire that quick. I figured he would've retired when he thought that he had done everything in wrestling. Like he had done every match, practically wrestled every superstar and felt there was no more he could do in WWE.
Yes, he should be in the Hall of Fame for 2012. What should he do now? I would hope that may be he can still be involved with WWE like may be he can be a General Manager or may be he can try acting again. I haven't seen him in that movie he did some years back so I can't say how good of an actor he is but that's something. I honestly see Edge in WWE as a General Manager instead of a Commentator or Interviewer. Or he can do the Cutting Edge and try to do that talk show again as a side show for WWE, I always liked watching that.

Pretty shocked. If I had to guess what big name wrestler was going to retire next in the WWE, it would of been Undertaker or Triple H, not Edge, who I thought would of had at least a few years left on him.
What he should do now... just go out an enjoy life. Maybe at some point, go back to the WWE and help out with things, not necessarly wrestle (like what Stone Cold is doing with Tough Enough, as an example).
He is one of the most decorated, but I don't think he is THE one.
As in being inducted into the HOF in 2012, unless the Undertaker or Triple H or such retire, yes, he should be shooed right into the WWE HOF.

I was very shocked, like many I thought he was going to retire in a few years. He stated in few interviews that he'd probably retire in 2 years or he could go on to 5 years. So it came as a huge shock when he announced his retirement this year. I hope at least that he is inducted into the Hall of Fame in Toronto.

Like everyone else I was shocked. I had read on a website a couple months ago that Edge said he could see himself retiring in two years. When Jerry said that he might retire I thought he would come out and be like "i have nothing else left to accomplish blah blah blah" and then Christian would talk him out of it or something.
I think he should enjoy his retirement and wait to come back until hes inducted into the HOF.
No he should be inducted when WM goes to Toronto and its rumored that WM 29 will be there.

I cant believe Im saying this but to me it was just as or even more sadder than when HBK retired but I heard that WM29 is going to be in Toronto and Edge and Trish Stratus will be inducted as part of the Hall of Fame class of 2013

I was very surprised. I wasn't expecting his retirement at all. It makes me sad to see him go, but in the end, it's the right thing to do for his health. He will be missed.
I hope he is in the class of 2012 HOF. He certainly deserves it.

Honestly I was expecting a storyline to come out of it, but it all looks legit. I was shocked that he is retiring, but he's doing the right thing according to the doctors and his spinal cord.
Screw Hulk Hogan for calling Edge out for retiring "early", maybe not all wrestlers want to be on pain killers and in terrible shape by the age of 50 Hulk, you orange bastid!

It's an end of an era and its sad. I started watching WWF/WWE in 2001 and my earliest memory of Edge is when he won the King of the Ring and when Christian turned on him. He should be inducted when Wrestlemania goes to to Toronto.
