How should I fix my door?
I have a door in my apartment to the living room that the previous tenant took off, but I wanted it back on so I re-attached it.
It fits perfect, however, after a few times of opening and closing the door, the screws on the part of the hinge attached to the door-frame came out completely, as if the wood was stripped. (The apartment is very old so the wood isn't the greatest.)
My question is, to fix it, should I try
1) Buying bigger screws and drilling a bigger hole where the old ones are,
2) Drill new holes to the left of the old ones (This would make the door fit kinda weird on the frame), or 3) Reposition the top hinge completely. The only problem with that is the door wouldn't shut all the way because where the hinge is now, it's slightly indented into the frame. Sorry if this is long winded and confusing, I just don't know how to go about fixing it.

Golf tees work great. Put them in the hole until the won't go in anymore, cut off the excess and then re-screw the hinges back on. Do one hinge at a time so you don't have to remove the door.

Since your door fiits well now you should keep it where is is, so use old holes.
Take out the hinge screws and insert a piece of wooden dowel in to the old screw holes with a dab of glue.
You will then be able to put the door back where is was.

All these answers sound great. Especially like the golf t deal. Try 3 inch screws maybe you'll scew into solid wood.

You can reinforce the screw holes with wood pieces the size of matches and glue them in. Also 2)

plug the holes with wooden tooth picks then rehang the door with the same screws
you could use a rawlplug instead of the tooth picks
