What films do you remember?
Do you remember specifically any films where one of the characters talks directly to the camera? i.e. in Ferris Buellers day off, or Funny Games? Or even in television shows like Malcolm in the middle or Peep Show? If you do can you tell me the name of it, and what effect it had on you when the character/actor spoke to the audience. Its for a uni project, cheers in advance.

George Burns started the talking to the audience in his sitcom Burns and Allen. Oliver Hardy wouldnt talk to the camera, but make faces directly to the viewer..this tool was also used by the Skipper on Giligan's Island

Mary Poppins, where "Bert" talks to the camera. I totally believed he was talking to me, because I was just a child when I first saw it.
