What would be the reason my dog does this?
Whenever my dog takes a mouthful of dog kibble he takes it from the kitchen where his bowl is and walks into the living room and drops it on the carpet and eats it there. He does not like to eat in the kitchen. He has always done this and is now 15 years old. I don't want to stop him from doing it, it's part of what makes him a quirky little dog, I am just wondering what would make him do that.

Many dogs do this. Mine did too. The reason, I beleive, is because he wants to come eat infront of you. He wants to show you what he has and he wants to be praised for doing what he is supposed to do . . . eat it.
I use to give my german shepard a treat when I would leave the house and he would wait until I got back home to show it to me or show it off and then eat it.

We used to have a pap that did this. No matter where we put his bowl he took the food somewhere else to eat it. You know what he was never over weight, sounds like a good diet plan to me. Just one of those things some dogs do.

He must just feel more comfortable doing thay. My cousins dog, when he gets fed meat, goes to the back door and lays down on the carpet and eats it there :) Its just a dogs naturality :-)

This is normal, many dogs do this. This is because they are not comfortable where they are eating. Just let him do what he's doing, all he's doing is getting comfortable.
