I'd love a zombie apocalypse too. no more job, no more work, no more money woes, no more bills! who wouldn't want that? of course just about any SHTF/major disaster would do just that.
TIPS:
#1 do not raid the gun store. 5-20 people will draw on your and before you can fire a shot they're put as many as 100 bullets in you. if I'm there too I wouldn't hesitate to run you thru with my rifle's bayonet to make sure you no longer pose any threat to us gun nuts & law abiding gun owners.
#2 do not gather to attempt to take over a walmart all for yourself. its a death trap without special planning and equipment
#3 do not take the freeways to get out of the city. it's gonna be a parking lot/death trap
#4 do not run for a mall. too hard to secure, no weapons, plus many people, some of them may be infected.
I think I will fare extremely well in the Zombie Apocalypse. I have many friends, many of them with many more guns, we have plenty of ammo, and I have scouted out a safe place for us to go that is not too far and its easily defended.
(Crystal Lake Campground, Angeles National Forest, Azuza, California)
code named BOL#2, its easily defensible, high up in the mountains, fairly remote, rich in natural resources and has a clear lake nearby for water.
I will have 37 relatives & family members, plus 12 friends and up to 20 more people.
between me and my friends we will initially have as many as 56 guns and close to 200,000 rounds ammunition. we'd also have at least 30 vehicles.
after the initial day's raiding of local stores
we will have 17 RVs, 5 generators, sizable supply of food & water, enough gardening material for a 2 acre garden, at least $2,500 face silver or gold coins, at least 250 guns, at least 500,000 rounds ammunition, at least 500 gallons gasoline, 5000 gallons propane, and a small arsenal of defensive weapons.
the crystal lake BOL will be protected extremely well against both zombie and human threats. we will have anti aircraft capability, anti armor capability, anti material capability up to 3000 meters. a great 20 foot high 30 foot thick wall protects us all around. forward observation posts allows us to observe from the safety of the "fort". remote controlled claymores cover the road in, with two sets of drawbridges and 3 check points. anti armor landmines set up to prevent a raid.

I'm not exactly sure how this fits in "gender studies" but I like the question anyway. :)
Its important to have a plan ahead of time if you want to survive a zombie apocalypse. First thing first, where will you go if your city is being overrun? Do you have a safe house set up and stocked with non-perishable food and weapons? If not, why not? It can be something as simple as a tent hidden in the woods somewhere and a bag full of food and weapons ready to go in your car or house.
Know where your family and friends are or are going to be. It will be key to meet up with survivors!

Hmmm, Gender Stu brings an important question to light. Exactly what kind of zombies are we dealing with? Are these the shambling George Romero zombies? Or the athletic, super-fast Zack Snyder zombies?

First things first. Step one is to go to the police station, or a gun store and grab as many weapons and ammo as you can. (I've heard great things about the Glock 19.) Next you need a vehicle; this shouldn't be too hard considering most will be abandoned by people that are now zombies. Step three is to get to the nearest convenience store and gas station, and grab all of the food, fuel, and beer that you can.

Honestly it depends greatly on the type of zombie. Are they the classic, slow-moving zombies of 1950's and '60's horror films? Or are they the more modern bada** and super-quick ones that pursue Will Smith in deserted cities? The former I could handle just fine.

I've got a lot of azes, they may be close combat but they make no noise and don't need reloading. I've also got a boyfriend who's good at archery. :) What we'll do for food I have no idea but against the zombies I think we won't have to worry too much. :)

Do what they did on AMC's The Walking Dead and sit in an upstairs bedroom behind an open window with a shotgun or rifle and play target practice with them. That's what I'd do.
Can you imagine? Would sure beat going to the rifle range.

what you need is a ZAP kit-zombie apocolypse preparedness kit. I have one with food, clothes, and a few weapons. I have to enhance it though, I need a sawed off shotgun and a few cool sayings whilst I blow off zombies heads.

I think those zombies need equal rights. I would start a zombie rights movement. Please join the ZRA, where equality REALLY matters.
@ Miss - Thank you.
