Is it possible to write songs, with out writing the music for it?
Music is my life. Unfortunately, I was never really able to learn an instrument. My parents got me guitar lessons for 3 years, and my teacher was a beast, but he never taught me anything like chords and notes... They say they would get me lessons sometimes, but my parents are flakes. I also dont have the time or patience to teach myself, due to ADD and I think im slightly retarded XP
However I LOVE to write lyrics, BUT, I cant write music :( would it still be possible for me to have a career or even a second job of some sort just writing the lyrics, and not the music??

Neither. in certainty you need to discover something that flows. As you're writing the lyrics you ought to be thinking approximately how the song will circulate, the way it is going to sound, how they'll in high quality condition at the same time. in case you write the two FIRST you danger the prospect of them never installation at the same time and writing distinctive song or lyrics. in case you easily would desire to do one first, in basic terms attempt the two first the song then lyrics, then opposite. %. the only that works for YOU.

That's what a lyricist does. So technically you would be a lyricist rather than a song writer. Nothing wrong with that. So generally a lyricist teams up with someone that's good at writing melodies. Elton John and Bernie Taupin are a perfect example.

If you have a melody for your lyrics, but you're not able to write it down or transfer it to an instrument, find someone who plays piano or guitar and sing it to him. He or she could help you making it a complete song.

You can write all the lyrics you want, as long as you can find a collaborater who is willing to put the words to music.
