While I can't see the link between democrats and microwaves (other than GE being a major microwave manufacturer), here's your answer...

There are very few left handed microwaves. Market demand is low because (a) most people are right handed and (b) many left handed people can still work with a "right handed" microwave by crossing there hand over or simply using their right hand. The capability required to operate a microwave (open/shut, push buttons) is not beyond the capability of most left handed people (using their right hand).

Still, if you do want one, microwave drawers are recommended since they don't favor a particular hand.

Almost every microwave i've seen you load with your left hand, and just simply push a button with your weak right hand.

Most microwaves open to the left.

It would be awkward to use your right hand.
