Worried about sons weight gain, Only 18 lbs at 9 months...?
My son is 9 months old. I took him to his well child check the other day. And he has only gained one pound since his 6 month appt. The doctor wasnt concerned cause he is growing and developmentally he is fine. But I am worried. Should I be feeding him more? He was small when born. He was 6 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long. Born on 7/7/10. Should I be worried???
Hey Wazza, why don't you read the question? I am pretty sure I said that I took him to the doctor. They said he is fine. But I AM worried... God.. seriously.. why do people just enjoy talking crap on here... Don't be f ing ignorant. Just read the freaking description underneath the question.

No i dont feel you should be worried. My daughter weighed about the same at birth. and she was about that wieght at 9 months. Every kid is different. Dont be worried unless the Dr. gives you reason to be concerned. Other than that.... Enjoy watching him grow.

Do not worry! As long as he is eating properly you are fine! My little girl is 20 mos and only 21lbs! She was at 18lbs at 12 mos. She is very little for her age (was also small when born 6lbs 7oz). I have been worried too, but Dr said everything is fine and that is just her. If he is a happy baby then he is getting enough food. I started mixing a little pediasure in a sippy cup with my daughters milk and that seemed to help a little... not sure if 9 mos is too young for that though.

My daughter is 8 months and only weighs 16lbs.. Prolly 17 maybe even 18 now since her last checkup was at 6 months.. She was 6lbs at birth as well.. No problems at all she is perfectly healthy.. I guess smaller babies gain weight slower then those born at 7 and 8lbs.. My daughter eats like her daddy.. lol and tht is ALOT!! I'm sure u hve nothing to worry abour!! (:

If the doctor wasn't worried, you probably have no reason to be worried! My daughter has slowed down on weight gain, too, and her doctor says that it's just that as she grows, she's more active and burns more calories. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Your little boy will be just fine!
