How do I create a backup for a software that came pre-installed with my computer?

I've just downloaded Photoshop CS5. I also have Photoshop CS3 installed on my computer. The instructions say I must uninstall the CS3 first before I can install the CS5, so I want to create a back up of the CS3 version in case the CS5 installation fails. I don't have the product key or the original CD for the CS3 cuz it came pre-installed with my computer. Is there anyway I can do this?

If it actually came pre-installed (I have never seen this happen) a recovery disk set will include it. You can not make a backup of programs, they need many library files and registry entries apart from the program itself. that is why they need an installer.
