In the US, what is a good (brand) firm tofu to buy?

tofu always tastes the same, go with whichever brand is cheapest. just make sure you get the right TYPE of tofu (ive never made tofu fish sticks but id imagine youd need firm or extra firm tofu)

tofu does NOT all taste the same.

The white tubs madeof plastic filled with water and a block of jellied tofu, in hte americna supermarkets, yes, they taste the same.

But real tofu- fresh, or at least pressed tofu, is absolutely delicious and , I believe, tastes rather different from each maker.

A good brand is afctrading , their products are sold in most of the Chinese, Korean, or Thai stores that I've been in ( California, Tenessee, Washington < NY etc)

That is pressed ("baked") tofu.

Of you want to get fresh, just try find one of those Asian big markets-= the tofu will usually be sold fresh, and they'll have more than ten varieties.

If you're living in a big city, go to Chinatown or Thai town- you may actually get it when it's freshly made and still hot...and the taste...omg. So good.
