Ah, you make me remember my first unassisted landing in a Diamond DA-20 Katana at Waterloo Regional Airport. The first landing is usually accompanied by a state of dread (OMG OMG OMG) and then shock (WOW, I DID IT!). The exhilaration comes afterward. I remember I didn't have time to bask in any feeling immediately because I had a Q400 coming in after me and I had to get the hell off of the runway...lol Yes, landing will always carry a great sense of accomplishment. My first couple of landings are something that I will NEVER forget! Congratulations on doing something that 99% of the population will never get to experience! :D

Wait until you get ready to SOLO. The first time you take off without the instructor on board, the plane will jump into the sky. Watch your power on landing, because now the plane will float a little easier with less weight onboard.

Always remember the pilot's adage: Any landing you can walk away from is a "good" landing. Any landing that the plane can be flown again is a "great" landing. Keep the shiny side up!
