How do so many people accept this?

So many christians believe that god can save you from an eternity in hell. So many christians also believe that god sends people to an eternity in hell.

Why are people so worried about being saved BY god, FROM god? Can they not see that its no better on one side of a tyrant than the other? If you are being saved from a god by that god because that god said so or else, don't you see how ridiculous that is?

Those of us who believe in God do not want to be separated from Him for eternity, be it in hell or at Disneyland.

"If you are being saved from a god by that god because that god said so or else, don't you see how ridiculous that is?"

Well I guess I don't see how ridiculous it is? Your question could be worded like this: "You are obeying the sovereign Creator of the universe, don't you see how ridiculous that is?"

I think that sometimes humans try to judge eternal, infinite things with their finite human logic and preferences; and sometimes an immortal, omniscient God does things which do not make sense to the tiny, finite human.

"Well I think God should do this" or "Well it would make more sense for God to have decreed that." People probably shouldn't expect to always be on the same page with a being they can't even fully comprehend.

You guys have been asking the same question on here all day, more than usual

Why would a loving God send people to hell?

C.S. Lewis put it best when he said God was in a sense 'giving them what they want' non-Christians have reasons beyond just the surface for not believing and though they may seem to have good morals or 'ideals' the fact that they don't follow God's law means they allow at least some sins to have a very prominent impact on their lives. These sins that have this strong impact have a way of....spoiling a soul, pride if left unchecked can lead to a Napoleon. Anger if left unchecked can lead to a Hitler. Most people don't get to Napoleon or Hitler status but if there IS life after death and they continue to believe they are not being affected by the pride or the anger then after death they will continue this pattern until they cease to be Napoleon or Hitler and simply BECOME Pride or Anger. Sins, if left unchecked and unconfessed and unforgiven, don't just make people do bad things, it CONSUMES the person, it unbinds their soul and turns it into the sin itself. This is hell. When we refuse to believe and accept and repent we begin to be consumed by our vices, until we cease to be ourselves at all. Napoleon liked his pride and now he is a mere vessel for pride. Hitler liked his anger and hatred and now he is a tool, a house for that anger and hatred. Hell is 'giving them what they want' because it is what THEY chose to allow happen. It's free will.

Put it this way, God is our father and we his children. Sins -by their very nature- harm us. God tells us not to sin because he doesn't want us to be harmed. It's like when your father tells you not to put your hand on the stove, because the heat -by it's very nature- will burn you. Repentance is the only thing that can heal that burn. While refusing to take your hand off the stove will lead you to catching on fire and being reduced to nothing but ashes. God tells us not to burn ourselves, but we do it anyway, and because God loves us, he provides us with medicine for the burn, but we have to be willing to take our hand off the stove and accept the medicine if we ever hope to get better.

    *SIGH, AGAIN*

Being saved by Jesus Christ from our sins. Our sinful nature was caused by Lucifer, Eve, and Adam.

Gee, did you even try to read the Bible?
