What are some great WAR MOVIES based on actual events?

Saving Private Ryan - A pretty good movie of WWII

All Quiet on the Western Front - WWI movie involving Germany and France.

Well, because movies are not real, and are only a portrait of a story, you must bare with me.

A good movie about war would be "Troy" which is based off of the story of the Trojan War. The main character of the movie is Achilles, who fights a bloody battle against his rival Hector. The motive of the kingdoms is mainly for the belief that the Gods wanted them to conquer the lands.

A great song dedicated to the story and its parts is "Achilles, Agony and Ecstacy" by Manowar.

Try watching the men who actually fought in war on the History Channel or National Geographic.

Yesterday I watched "Inside the Green Berets" on National Geographic and it was really action packed. It even showed an explosion that severely injured the camera crew and killed two of the Green Berets by an I.E.D. that the Afghanistan Talibans planted. I.E.D.'s are home made explosive devices that they use to kill Americans while they drive.

They planted 5 of them and the Green Berets found and blew them up but apparently missed one. And then the Talibans started shooting RPG's at their back-up crews helicopter.
