Best Way or How TO save files & Important Data to Free up space on PC?.?
What is the best way to start saving important data from my PC.? Should I download to a CD or a separate memory stick that plugs into my PC ( USB Port)? Should I have separate Ports for instance for "Financial", Personal Data like account numbers, etc, genealogy information or do you have a better idea? I really don't know what is the best for me but I do know I'm saving way too much stuff on my PC. Our Photo file is huge by itself. Thanks to everyone who answers me.

I use zip drive (memory stick) for important information that way I can save updates to the same drive
My Genealogy info I keep separate lineages on separate memory drives and back the entire thing plus pictures on and external hard drive. But I also have hard copies of all my files. The original documents I have stored in archival sleeves in a safety deposit box along with a copy of all pictures as well. that way if something happens to my house I will not loose all my research.

if you really want it do the double back up - copy all important photos etc to dvd or cd discs, pack these away, buy an external harddrive for extra pc storage space.
