I plunged a slow draining sink & all this water came up black. It drained out but left a layer of "blackish" mud in sink. Kind of mushy so I wiped it out . My bathroom sink does not get a lot of use but house is very, very old. Hope it's not the lining of the pipes.Thanks

Today I've installed Adobe Flash player at least 6 times, restarted the computer & as soon as I click on a link to open a news story, it says" you need to download Adobe Flash Player now". I've looked & can see it's one of my programs when I search "All Programs in the Start Menu". so, anyone know why it's not working on my laptop or any suggestions for me? My Norton Security Adviser says it's safe. I just don't know or understand why it keeps happening. Seems I'm always installing a new Adobe Player. Any advice is and will be appreciated.

I didn't file my 2012 taxes in April & filed for an extension which is due Tuesday, 10/15/2013 and I cannot find my Social Security Benefits Statement. I know how much the net amount for my monthly benefit was but I cannot find out how much the monthly payment was for Medicare premium for part B nor what the annual deduction was. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. I have to bring my data to the tax man on Monday 10 /14/13. Please I have tried the SSA gov website but cannot find 2012 data. They tell you to call Monday thru Fridays. Thanks to anyone who has this info for me.

Best place (store or online or at home) or how to duplicate old photographs? I have lots of old photos that I want to duplicate & give to friends & family. I believe it would be too costly at home with the machine, ink & paper. Anyone have any suggestions?. Mostly all different sizes & shapes from different times.

I mistakenly bought a wet/dry vac for my kitchen but after I opened it, I found out it has a plug for a car. Can I use batteries or a converter to somehow use it in my kitchen using the regular outlets?

I have an old 2 family home w/ the 2nd floor kitchen needing a complete remodel. I cook on newer 1st floor, etc. But I use the sinks on 2nd floor too & sleep & use other rooms there. I sprung a leak under kitchen sink a while ago & thankfully had a large plastic pan underneath that caught dripping water. I put drain in sink & when I went to clean the stainless drain I was shocked to see water up to the level of the sink. Since the pipe underneath has a pinhole on the side of that pipe, how is it that this water did not empty out of the pipe? When it first happened, that drain was empty because I wiped it out with a cleaner. I have used the faucet to fill up bottles, a basin to soak clothes & to fill kettle. Faucet does not leak but sometimes I don’t shut it off as fast as I move the container away & have seen a few drops fall; but figured a few drops wouldn’t hurt the pipe underneath. My MYSTERY is why the water in drain is not emptying into the bucket underneath? Could it be because of gravity? The pinhole is on the side of a vertical pipe so does it need “force” of some kind to empty? This is driving me crazy trying to figure out why the water is still there. I know I will have to pump it out with a wet/dry vac because I don’t want to use a plunger & make things worse. Any plumbers, handymen or engineers out there that could explain why gravity hasn’t emptied this sink completely after 6 months ?

In my Roman Catholic education, the Church has stressed the most important reason for married couples to engage in sex was procreation; therefore why do they object to invitro fertilization? I don't understand the concept behind their calling it a mortal sin. I would appreciate anyone giving me an educated explanation/ Please, no nasty or offensive answers.

I own a super one yr old Dell with all the bells & whistles and a 1 yr old Acer Laptop which is as heavy as a 10 lb sack of potatoes. Need to travel and use a computer & through research find that the New NetBooks are really lightweight & prices are coming down. I have to have a keyboard so pls don't suggest any "Pads". All drains in house (3 levels) are working fine but my kitchen sink is still blocked. Am using enzyme cleaners now & the liquid doesn't go down any ideas why? It cannot be the sewer because 2 toilets & 3 other sinks and 2 showers are working fine. What could be stopping the liquid from going down. Have used plunger, snake (for about 12 inches) and other enzyme cleaners that always worked before. Appreciate any help.

She's decided to move to FL to be with her deadbeat dad believing that one parent is better than none. He was legally bound to pay $119 per week for her support and 1/2 of medical ( he never helped her with medical bills) and college bills. He did pay half of the first year's tuition until my daughter was hospitalized with stage 4 cancer & died within 13 weeks. He tried to stop the money being taken out of his pay; but NJ has the strictest Child Support laws in the US so they kept taking it out of his pay but they still have the money (over 6 months). My granddaughter never got a penny yet & if she gets it, living with him, he will take it. We had to support her until she moved to Florida. I just paid her full college tuition for the Fall because it had to be paid by 6 pm the day I called. She was in the financial aid office ( I guess for his $ ?) but she didn't even tell us when it was due. I charged the tuition and since I paid for all the this semester, we expect him to pay for the Spring semester. We told her to tell him that & she thought it was a good idea & it gives him 4 months to save --but she let it go until the end because her mother always bailed him out (even out of jail once)! My question is if one party dies, does that make the divorce agreement Null and Void? Or does a court order have to be made to continue the agreement? Or what? We went to 2 different county Courts but they really didn't help us except to say either she or he needs a new court order to change the payee from my daughter's name to her daughter's name. I just wish the money would go into her educational Trust Fund instead of to him.

What is the best way to start saving important data from my PC.? Should I download to a CD or a separate memory stick that plugs into my PC ( USB Port)? Should I have separate Ports for instance for "Financial", Personal Data like account numbers, etc, genealogy information or do you have a better idea? I really don't know what is the best for me but I do know I'm saving way too much stuff on my PC. Our Photo file is huge by itself. Thanks to everyone who answers me.

PBS "Masterpiece Theater" is showing a 4 part series about England that starts with the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 and the start of WW I. It's really about the different "classes" of people in the UK at the time; even within the household staffs of mansions, etc. It all changed with the war but then there were the haves and the have -nots especially among the working classes. There is a Countess played by Maggie Smith who asks "what is a weekend ?" Because the wealthy did not "work"; they had others who worked for them & kept them happy. Now if anyone saw "Gangs of New York" you would have seen culture classes between those who saw themselves as true American "Bill the Butcher played by Daniel Day Lewis" & Irish immigrants played by Leo DiCaprio & Cameron Diaz. Not talking about slavery here and not about the white vs black vs Asian mentalities. Just about the classes here in American from the 1840s to the start of WWI. I'd like to hear what you thinks of the different "classes" of people in America then versus the British classes of people. Were they just about the same more or less or different? Why do you think the British class system really didn't change until WWII? Have any of you watched Masterpieces' "Downton Abbey" ? It's marvelous. Very thought provoking.
