can an auto vac be converted to work in house?

I mistakenly bought a wet/dry vac for my kitchen but after I opened it, I found out it has a plug for a car. Can I use batteries or a converter to somehow use it in my kitchen using the regular outlets?

Both a transformer or a digital voltage converter. Is dependent upon the vigor of the appliance you wish to have to run. If it wants a lot of power and also you most effective intend to make use of the converter to power this, you might be higher purchasing a new equipment at the right voltage. An auto transformer would be the most cost-effective answer on the whole, but remember an autotransformer would not isolate the appliance. These will most of the time be used with energy tools and the identical you can actually convert both way, from 110v ac to 240v ac home equipment or from 240v ac to vigour 110v ac appliances. Electronic converters will handiest work one way in general. Regardless of what the earlier reply says, if it can be an electronic gadget the 50-60hz practically obviously is not going to make any difference. TVs and desktops and so on. Simply swap the voltage, the ac hz would not matter as it is all transformed to dc anyway. If it's electrical it won't make a lot change until it uses a synchronous motor. Here within the UK we use autotransformers on tools always to run power instrument on web sites at 110v both in view that of safeguard or for the reason that we wish a specific company of US voltage tool. Assess to look the appliance does not have a voltage converter somewhere in it. If imperative, contact the manufacturer.
